  1. Anyone who intends to upgrade their knowledge in the security field and obtain a certified licence which would aid in their career advancement. Organisations may also send their employees to enhance their knowledge and competency.

  2. All assessments are conducted in the morning except for OBSE and SSOC. For OBSE and SSOC, assessments are conducted only in the afternoon and commences at 2pm. However, this schedule is subjected to change depending on third party assessor’s availability. Candidates will be informed of any last minute changes.
    Due to WSQ standards, Certis will not be able to negotiate for an earlier/later timing.

  3. Only Singaporean or PR is eligible to apply. Participants must fulfil the requirement of 75% attendance and obtaining a pass in the assessment in order to enjoy the grant.

    The funding amount can be up to 95%. The amount depends on the participant’s age, salary and qualification. If the participant fails to fulfil the requirement, he/she will have to make a full payment of the course fee to the training organisation.

  4. a) Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme

    If you are self-sponsored trainee, you will qualify for Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme if you are an employed Singapore Citizen ages 35 years and above, earning a gross salary of $2,000 a month or less

    b) Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES)

    The SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy is for Singaporeans aged 40 years and above. If you are 40 years and above, you may be eligible for higher subsidies of up to 90% of course fee for our WSQ courses.

    c) SkillsFuture Credit

    All our offered WSQ courses are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit usage by Singaporeans only.

    Below are the additional documents required for individuals;

    For foreigners:

    a) Passport/foreign ID
    b) Payslip for the recent past 3 months

    For Singaporean/PR:

    a) Identity Card
    b) Payslip/CPF slip for the recent past 3 months
    c) Workfare Training Support letter (If applicable)

  6. Participants will be informed on the outcome on the day of the assessment. Result slip will be shown to the participant.

  7. Candidates may re-apply for a re-test. However, they are subjected to pay the full amount for the assessment fee.

  11. We will provide you with all the materials you need to successfully complete the course. When you join the course you will be given handouts as well as online account to access our learning resources.

  12. Definitely not, working in the security industry is not about intimidating or scaring people. The use of good communication and tact is high valued. A security operative must find a way to defuse conflict with good communication. A security operative should also provide good customer service. Having a professional appearance, being able to communicate well and the ability to remain calm under pressure are more valuable than being big and threatening. There are many security jobs in many different areas, which all have different requirement or the staff working there.

If you intend to be a security officer, you are advised to apply and obtain the security officer license clearance from the Singapore Police Force before submitting your online application for the two basic licensing courses at Certis website. You will be required to use your Singpass to apply for the licence clearance at the PLRD website.

  14. The two basic licensing modules are;

    a) Provide Guard and Patrol Services (2 days training and half day assessment).
    b) Handle Security Incidents and Services (2 days training and half day assessment).
